Description Iron Studios presents the sinister Penguin from the hit 1992 film, Batman Returns! Oswald Cobblepot was born in Gotham’s aristocratic high society, but due to his deformities, he was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Created as the attraction of a freak show, he returns 33 years later as the leader of the Red Triangle Circus Gang, looking for revenge. This version of him in this film is much more tragic and malevolent compared to his original comic book version—a more comical take on his backstory—and according to director Tim Burton, it was inspired by the classic 1920 German horror movie Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari, visually influenced by his first version of  Batman: The Animated Series by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini of the same year. In this gorgeous diorama statue, the villain seemingly lands at the top of the staircase to his lair with his signature sadistic smile and special flying umbrella. The Penguin is dressed in his formal attire wearing a top hat and an overcoat in shades of black and gray, where 2 of his pet penguins lead him down to his floating duck vehicle—emerging from Gotham’s icy underground river galleries.
